Clip Ahora is a brand, software application, and technology product owned and operated by Skoolafix Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of the Republic of Kenya, with registered operations in Nairobi, Kenya (contact email: skoolafix@gmail.com).

This Privacy Policy applies to our Chrome Extension, marketing website (clipahora.com), and upcoming macOS desktop application.

2. Our Fundamental Privacy Commitment

Clip Ahora is engineered from the ground up on a local-first, zero-telemetry architecture. We believe your screen activity and personal viewing habits belong exclusively to you.

• No Cloud Video Uploads: When you clip a video using our Chrome Extension or upcoming Mac app, all frame buffering, audio encoding, trimming, and video generation occur strictly in local memory on your computer. Your clips are never sent to our servers.
• Zero Telemetry & No Activity Tracking: We do not track, log, or profile what videos you watch, what websites you browse, or how many clips you record.
• No User Account Required: You do not need to create an account, log in, or provide personal identity details to use our clipping tools.

3. Chrome Extension Permissions & Data Handling

The Clip Ahora Chrome Extension requests only the minimum technical permissions required by Chrome's Manifest V3 to function:

• activeTab & scripting: Used solely to access the video element on the active tab when you explicitly trigger the clipping shortcut (Alt+Shift+X or ⌥⇧X).
• storage & unlimitedStorage: Used solely to store your recent clip history and user preferences locally in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB). This data never leaves your device.
• downloads: Used solely to save the finished MP4 video file to your browser's default Downloads folder when you click download.

4. Video Watermark Policy

Free clips produced by Clip Ahora include a subtle, minimal watermark badge in the corner (featuring the official Clip Ahora mark: Clip Ahora • clipahora.com). This watermark is rendered client-side on your local device during export. No analytics, tracking tags, or device identifiers are embedded in the video or watermark.

5. Website Access & Cookies

Standard web server access logs (such as IP addresses, browser user-agent strings, and request timestamps) are processed automatically by hosting edge infrastructure to serve web traffic, defend against DDoS attacks, and deliver SSL security. We do not use intrusive third-party cross-site advertising trackers or sell your data.

6. Children's Privacy

Our software does not knowingly collect, solicit, or maintain personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or under 18 where applicable). Because our software operates locally without accounts, no child's personal information is stored by Skoolafix Limited.
